Title: Academic Support Intern
Calendar: A, School Days

ESP Salary Schedule: Range 5 Step 1

Hours: Typical hours are from 3-5 hours per week. (Maximum 42 Hours per Semester) 

Locations: Ben Lomond High School, Ogden High School, Mound Fort Junior High School, Highland Junior High School, Mount Ogden Junior High School, Polk Elementary School, Lincoln Elementary School, Wasatch Elementary School

 

We are seeking enthusiastic and qualified high school students (grades 11 & 12) to join our Academic Support Internship program! This program offers valuable experience in supporting student learning within our district school

 

Subjects:

  • Priority: AVID Elective, Multilingual Literacy (MLL), Math
  • Other Core Areas: ELA, Science, Social Studies 

 

 
Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with students in small groups and individual settings.
  • Provide academic support based on student needs and course content.
  • Facilitate learning using the AVID model (for AVID and MLL placements).
  • Assist teachers with whole-group instruction.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

 

  • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in Ogden School District.
  • Willingness to enroll in CTE Coursework to satisfy Internship requirements.
  • Strong academic performance in core subjects.
  • Interest in education and supporting student success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.

 

It’s preferred if the applicant has completed or is enrolled in one of the following courses

  • Completion of or current enrollment in education-related coursework (Teaching as a Profession 1 or 2, Education 1010, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Latinos in Action).
  • Participation in AVID elective courses (AVID 10, 11, or 12).
